My a14 wouldn't rev past about 7250 ish, with a hitachi carb , piss weak compression and a forcrce feeding cam grind. I have dual valve springs all set up to instaled heights. I was thinking that the points must be bouncing. Once the blowers on (this weekend all going well) I wont need to rev it harder than that, but it's still nice to know that I could if I wanted to.
Oh yeah, another trick for big revving donks id replacing the springs betweem the rocker arms with bushes, this stops the rocker arms migrating and bending /breaking push rods.

My semi-built A15 has been running on it's last rebuild for about 8 years now with lots of highway and city miles (lost track). I have driven it very hard and redlined it a lot (~7,700 rpm) in those last 8 years and it still takes them with pleasure, no smoke, oil leaks, knocks, or problems of any kind. I did have to replace the stock valve springs with dual NISMO units, after running the stock ones for about 7 years, but that's all that has worn out. A series are awesome engines for reliability if you rebuild them properly and do a good job with quality parts and quality machine work. It's imperative to have it all balanced too!

The faster you rev it, & the longer you hold it there, the shorter it's service life, either through accelerated wear rates, or major component failure.
For road use, 6,000 should be quite enough. I kept my 1200GX down to about 5,500, with a few exceptions, & it lived a good long time. [twice]

yeah so far i have taken it out to 6000rpm but no point because i'm still using a sh-it carby and it starts to die up there

(the engine was rebuilt a few years back and the cam is a 1/4 race cam but i don't know the lifts on it)

well my a12 i used to get vavle bounce alot and tried to kill it but never did very strong motors the Aseries.

but with a modded Aseries, depends on your motor is it rebuilt, fully balanced etc?? as this will help with how many Revs it will take relabily.

My a14 10;1 (full rebuild) with Gx head, elec dizzy, blueprint and balance and webers goes to 9000rpm . it has stock internals. How did i find that out i gave it a go at the optimal engine temp of coruse

i guess High reving is never safe. just stick to the revs where it is optimal to change to next gear (depends on ur cam) any further is just useless reving.

I've got a a14 with some modifications but a fully stock internal and was just wondering how far you guys would rev it out to be safe.
