I'd say that's about right.
When we attempted (failed) to rebuild it last time we spent $250 on an engine in far worse condition than this one for parts.

Ok, all the info I could get.
less than 30,000km ago: New bearings, new main bearings, new timing chain, Head shaved, valves grinded. Needs doing: Rings and pistons. May need new bearings but not necessarily.

My father who actually has the car at his place at the moment says he has an offer of $100 which he doesn't think is worthwhile (I don't know what it's worth myself). What do you offer?

Just been told - the spare head and stuff has been sold.
Just the complete motor. Spare inlet and exhaust manifolds and carburetor.

The engine was reconditioned around a year ago but we neglected to fit new pistons. Goes well but smokes.

I'm wrecking my old vanette.
Has an A15 engine that needs a rebore + some spare engine parts. (old spare head, cylinders etc.) Also after an 86-93 vanette for parts You can view topic.
