if you have the girlock calipers you are in luck because you can upgrade to landcruiser 4 spot , they bolt straight on then you can run 32 mmm rotors instead of 10 mm.
or volvo 4 spot and 15 mm rotors

The two types of stanza brakes are as follows: The top one is the early calliper which has 3 inch bolt spacing. You don't want these. The bottom one is the late model calliper with 3.5 inch bolt spacing. These are a much better option giving greater pad area. I've posted a few comparison photos of these if you wanted to check them. Cheers. Dan

UTE18L, there are 3 different types of 240K brake, so be careful. The ones I tried on the Stanza strut were off my 240K coupe, 253mm disc and twin spot caliper.

So are Your stanza struts completly stok with no add ons. just the Stanza strut pulled out of a stanza and bolted in to the 1200 with a smaller reset spring?
I'm putting in a 120Y front end in the ute, coz the fella that had it before me was doing a burnout and hit a gutter and fuked the strut and bent sumthin in the front end so im gunna replace with 120y front end and will be sweet. oh yeh that was the other thing i had to ask, will the Stanza strut bolt in with the 120Y front end? i plan to do a hill climb or 2 with the ute once its complete.. so yeh i want it set up to do sum OK times... but dont go over board as it will be a daily driver.. ne way enuf of my bulshit cheers.

I use Bendix pads and fitted new rotors when i fitted the pads.. But maybe not Bendix Ultimate, I want to try the green stuff brand pads next time as i have only heard good things about them from all applications and differant set-ups. But then again 240K sounds the goods, Do you know how big the rotors are???
And are there any mods??? my uncle has a 240K in goulburn and i could pic up the bits and pieces this weekend. If only i could afford ferals option. and fitted new rotors when i fitted the pads.

Stanza brakes are only 240-odd mm (244 I think), definitely not 275mm.
woodydat, I use Stanza brakes on my coupe. They're fine for hillclimbs, but don't exactly have huge stopping power. They fade after about 3 or 4 laps on racetracks (depending on the track). I use Bendix Ultimate pads, which is what I'd recommend to UTE18L. If you use cheap pads, don't expect much performance. Converted, the commodore calipers don't fit the Stanza strut. 240K twin spot calipers bolt onto the Stanza strut, and the 240K discs fit the Stanza hub. Feral also does some good brake conversions for these struts: http://www.datrats.com.au/BRAKES.html You can view topic.
