It might be the resistor for the LOW fan speed.
It's attached to the side of the box with the spring thing on the inside and some wires connected on the out side. Angelo

Well, if you are sure it's a t-stat, the thing would have constant waterflow. Nissan dealers have micrefich with all the parts for the 1200's(not all parts are avalable), they
might be able to pinpoint what it is that"self distructed" Frank

Hi-
I recently took my heater apart and found a small switch which self-destructed. It had two bits of copper and a spring joining two terminals. Sounds like a thermostat? Will the heater still operate without the damn thing? thanks,' justin
