Yeah im talking about the locking plate that stops the camshaft from falling out.....And yes it is an M6 not any different as i did that, i went to a shop and asked 'i need a tap kit and drill for this please' and they gave me exactly what i wanted, as to be expected.
The real question i had was has anyone really heard of people leaving broken shafts or cheap bums like the person(s) dattodude said of pushing the shaft back down the hole not cool!Cheers Dave And yeah there is no pitch 1.5mm with a width of 9mm as that is pretty darn big or werid for an application like that, is this agreable??

I dont like to dissagree, but there is no such thread size as 9mm OD x 1.5 pitch.
I would be very surprised if Datsun made this size bolt for their product protection reasons - its soooooo far from the accepted engineering standards . Maybe you should check again??????? sorry Standard ISO choices are: ISO metric fine threads - 8mm OD x 1mm pitch. 10mm OD x 1.25mm pitch. 12mm OD x 1.25mm pitch. ISO metris coarse threads - 8mm OD x 1.25mm pitch. 10mm OD x 1.5mm pitch These are the only international standard threads that are readily available. 9mm OD is not standard and not mentioned in any ISO charts and it would surprise me if Nissan used such a size in any of its manufacturing processes.

He's not talkin about head bolts!!
Not only must you know if the bolt is M4 or M5, you also need to know the pitch. Why not take the good bolt out..take it down to a bolt shop and ask for "one of these...please"

1200 headbolts are M8 ? Don't quote me on that.
I use them to hold in my CA18 starter motor ![]() I've heard of tightarses pushing snapped off bolts further down before. ( Not me ) Surely some careful drilling and ezy-out work will rectify the problem?

Right so im re-assembling the brand new A15 donk (pics up soon as soon as i can figure out how to?!!)
So im putting in my lovely new Waggot Cosworth cam after the lifters are in and im putting on the locking plate 1 bolt in good, 2nd bolt OH SH|T the bolt head has snapped off....!! Now this is common a bolt head coming off if its old or worn down i agree, but is it weird that it looks like someone has already snapped a bolt shaft off in there & the hole is smaller than the other????? Alright i admit it i used a different bolt than what was in there as i lost it but surley they should be all the same depth? So i filed off both edges of the bolt shaft and twiseted it out with some pliers, fine.... But now i have to re tap the hole but i shouldnt have to surley!!!! (does anyone know the tap size?? M4? M5?) So in conclusion some1 has failed at doing something to my locking plate bolt hole to and has left me a large chunk of the old bolt shaft in there, i hate this person sooo soo much!!! Any advice or comments?? Cheers Dave You can view topic.
