I honestly do not understand the reasoning for your question !

Maybe you should stop being lazy yourself and read the question.
Its about how to post a pic.
Coops is wanting to show everyone pics of what he has encountered during his resto.
Thats called being anything but lazy.

Oh !! and good luck with your reading.

Where to look for rust on 1200 utes ????????????????????
Well obviously you`re restoring one now right ?
Hows about starting to look everywhere !!!!!

LAZY????????

I honestly do not understand the reasoning for your question ! If it`s in the process of restoration, HAVE A GOOD LOOK !!!!!!!!
If you`re doing a half-assed re-spray, Who CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want some kind of an answer mine is something like this ""ANYWHERE YOU CAN FIND IT "" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh !! and good luck with your project.

Yeah, I have progress photo's of my ute restoration. I've drilled out a lot of the
panels & bought all new ones........ Underneath the rust is truly spectacular!

Sill panels, Vent panels, tray....... You know the story.

I just can't seem to get the pic's to post. Do you need to load them on to the photo album first? I went to 'my album', but can't seem to work out what to do there.

Look at where the rear sub frame joins up to the cab. The floor in that area rusts pretty quick.

also check under the front fenders up the top. There's that frame bit there that often gets rust in it.

If its got rust in replaceable panels its ok, but when its got rust in the chassis and everywhere else, your better off leaving it and going off to find a better one.

apparently the darker coloured datsuns recieved more primer when they left the factory, and so rust a lot slower.

From my experience,1200 utes commonly rust right throughout the tray, including up against the cabin, right along the sills, bottom of all four mudguards, bottom of both doors and around the bottom edges of the windscreen. Only the tailgate seems to be relatively rust free.

under the front sill, where the vents are and the front gurards meet the cabin, they rust out easily and also lead to the wet foot experience in the rain

In the footwells and in the tray are two places that seem to have heaps of rust. The windscreen seals sometimes have rust underneath them. Ummmm, and in the two cutouts in front of the front window, where the grills are located, they sometimes have rust in them.
