I'm planning on using one of these in my white 1000 coupe also.
I was thinking of just leaving it STD length and fitting the 4" flares off the racecar......lol
I really haven't measured it up so I have no idea whats involved to fit it in. But it must be easier than grafting in the 1600 IRS I have half done into the orange coupe.

I'm interested in seeing how this all goes for you guys before I get mine done.

Dattodevil they are just a Borg Warner and came in many Australian Market cars, same as what I have in the pics of my wagon except mine is out of a Falcon.

If you call or go to Craft Diffs and ask for Red, dont ask Richard a price, Red will do a good price for cash. Just make sure he knows that you know what the go is ( like only needing one axle splined).

I recomend actually measuring how wide you want the diff using the intended wheels and make sure the offset will clear the brakes and not hit the leafsprings.

Saw Kev to pick up my diff on Friday, (what do you want to know about your ute?) The short axle becomes the long one and the long one is cut and resplined. Call Kev, he may even freight something to you. Or Jack can drop it off when he drives his ute back!

Haven't heard from Kev in a while (even though he has my car) but he gets them done really cheaply up in Ipswich/Brisbane. He told me that the axles don't actually need to be resplined (from memory). I think the short side is swapped to be the long side and the long side spline is normally long enough to cope with the extra length just being cut down (i think, that was the trick?).
But yeah. Take a drive north and camp on the beach, have a few drinks by the fire, drop off the diffs - repeat to pick 'em back up and even then you would still have change. Prices i got quoted in Newcastle were around 1500$. Half that is a good price and Kev's prices were(?) better still.

im in perth and paid 1600 to have r31 diff cut down but they supplied and fitted lsd to it.they welded brackets off 1200 diff onto it .was very easy job to put in car just had to get wider and longer u bolts
