Are you wanting to integrate a computer into your car, or are you just look at putting a laptop somewhere?
You could probably modify your glovebox compartment into a PC and use a fold up keyboard, also use one of those DVD monitors, a little small but would fit nice in the centre console

My two cents.
Yes the original post sounds at least weird. But then again, can anyone deny the advancement of the overall auto in just our lifetime. I paused to wonder what people in their time said of "you mean I start it from my seat?" Or...."power seats and windows???" Or ...... Hell, look back at the auto's evolution. What seems completely obvious to us now....at one point was ridiculed. Just don't be too quick to shut down the free and "crazy" thinkers (no matter if they do not know what a spellcheck is or for). Ideas....... begat ideas....... begat...... I DID do a speel check on "begat"........ "butgot" no final answer

Correct me if I am wrong but werent laptops designed to be mobile and run on a battery pack?
If you want a desktop PC in your car it would be easy enough, the computer runs off 12v anyway. Something tells me you dont want the laptop for any of these suggestions. But untill you explain what you actually want to achieve, I think you will only get smartarse answers from us dumb people.

All you need is a "power inverter" that supplies enough watts or amps to run the laptop. They are about $40 USD. They connect to the 12V battery, and output 120V so you just use the standard laptop AC adapter.
Use a Microsoft Smartphone as your USB wireless modem, and you can surf Datsun1200 all day long (using your Telstra account or other favorite phone company).
