Just to give you some A-series inspiration my uncle and cousin built an a14 for a bloke. He did go with forged rods and pistons though. But my cousing did the head and the matched a cam up to suit the supercharger and it ran a 12.7 I dont remember the mph. But that is pretty impressive to say the least.
1.4/1.5L, pushrod single cam and non-crossflow. I can get the head profile too.

i tend to disaggre, it ran a 15.6, i was there with you after we set the gap on the plugs. It all cam good for one run.
Yes it was not a true time but it was the time and all you can do is improve on that. The car was running like an artificial rev limit and wouldnt hook up. Just think, it might run a mid 14 striaght out of the box now (especially with a 5 speed). Get it running good, one solid run 1200rc and then retire the thing for a road car, pur the $$$ into the coupe and it wll be 12sec 1/4s all day every day.

thats a very unrealistic time for the a15tt as it ran like absolute crap then (no full throttle, no reving past 4500, died on start when loaded up, something to do with fuel problems which i dont remember now)
so no that doesnt put it in perspective ![]() and thats why i never mention that time as it is not a good indicator, i think it didnt even run that i think best was 16 something on the good side of things, i pulled the motor out today and the fly wheel bolts were a few threads out on each, so looks like the good ol' a15 is still good for more punishment, i'll try to slot it back in tomorrow and have it up and running again provided thats the only problem it has

to put that into perspective, althought the a15tt now has an e, which would in theory make it run quicker.... the 1000 coupe at the nissdat heathcote drag day was running 15.4's all day with an a15 and twin webers...

i think the best was at heathcotte last year with an official 15.6 with the blow through set up, didnt get 1/mile with efi.

go ca in the green coupe as a drift car and just stay a15e in the red coupe, ditch the turbos (or sell them to someoneelse to fund the a15 rebuild).
You will need for the drift car more steering lock and more neg camber up front and try to reduce axle tramp in the rear, then get it low. Try to cut out the rear archs to fit wide rims 7inch minimum and maybe 15's. Sprinter rims are everywhere for cheap $$$ and look ok on 1200's. For inspiration look at what Beau Yates has done with his sprinter ![]() just make it srong on the stock ca with exhaust and work on brakes, diff, cooling and susension first.

But if you like abit of oldskool power, if you like been different go the A15ett. If you had the bonnet open at a show or something and I saw a CA id be like meh, isnt that what they have standard nowadays. But if i saw the mighty A15ett I would take note and appreciate the hard work and patrience to go through with such an outrageous proposal. I agree with Freak. The a15ett is original and unique. my 2c? stick with the tt Nathan

looks like the tribe has spoken RC. let the a15ett be what it is. old school with some real individuality, just don't push it too far. standard bottom end and all the head components for that matter won't like it.
i got lucky with the hilux diff, i bought it ready to go into a 1200, just needed to get one axle made for it, it has nice fat 30 spline nine inch axles. R31 would be fine i just bought what was about. You can view topic.
