with the ute,you can probably run the pipe out the passenger side just in front of the rear wheel.the police might want to tell you it's illegal, but the rules say behind the rearmost opening window.the problem would be getting an effective muffler in the set up,or the cops could book you for excessive noise.maybe a round muffler like a motorcycle one in the transmission tunnel.

Should be a direct bolt-in. The main difference is the A14 block is about 20mm higher than the A12 block, so there is some possibility that the exhaust pipe will raise up and hit the bottom of the cab. But probably not.

its an 81 ute,
both engines look pretty much identical, evrything is in the same place as the a12.
what sort of eng-mount issues are there???
also, would i be best off running the exhaust to just rear of the cab and stop there??

Are you removing a pre '74 model 1200 engine, or the post '73 model A12 engine?
If it's the later [A12] engine, then the swap should be pretty much straightfoward, however there are some engine mount issues with the 1200 engine along with some wiring harness work as the 1200 altenator is on the other side of the engine compared to the A12/14

hi,
im about to replace the a12 for an a14 in my ute.
i also have the celica 5 speed behind the a12.
is there anything in particular that needs doing for this swap.
or is it a case of swopping 1200 flywheel to a14, and getting exhaust made.
does evrything else bolt up???
thanks..
