Hi Steveo - Red LED's are worth 10 and the green ones are worth 1. 55 means it's all good.

pul out your CAS and turn your ignition to on and spin the CAS do you hear your injectors ticking??? if not then your ECU or power to your injectors are f'ed
If they click meaning they operate fine, then pull out a spark plug (after you've put your cas back in and having the spark plug still conected to the coil pack earth out the bottom of the plug to the engine body or head (anywhere that is metal) and tun over the engine see a spark??? basically one of those tests will tell you whats failing spark or fuel or both. Then you can go off and check voltages on your ingition wire to the ECU etc, have you checked your ignition relay??? is it still working or has come loose??? check you fuses in your fuse box haven't come loose in trasit.

ns.com is not a reliable source of information.
EF-EC 72 : 5 red, 5 green is "ECCS Normal Operation".

do a cpu diagnostics test it is quite easy... Did that, and the red LED flashed 5 times and then the green flashed 5 times, i'll check out that silvia site in a minute. The thing is(as i said earlier)when i put it on the truck it was going, and when i took it off the truck(TNT)in newcastle it was dead, didn't fire at all, before i put on the truck it was working fine nothing wrong with it, i even raced at Mt cotton a couple weeks ago, it was fine until i put it on the TNT truck. i also said earlier i found the connections to my stereo connected; (+)positive to (-)negative, i was speaking to a mate and he said that could have caused a power spike which could have stuffed the ecu. thanks for all the help!

Hey you tried getting the coil pack tested? My mates crx had the same thing but the coil only had enough go to spark with the plug out of the head.

I had a problem like this and the solution was simple i had given the ECU an accessory wire as it's ignition wire, so when i turned the key to on everything would like perfect but go to crank it the engine would just keep turning over but with no combustion as when you crank all accessory wires get turned off so it was turning off my ECU, it prbably ain't your problem but I'd just have a double check of your wiring.

check all the plugs in the loom are connected together..... do a cpu diagnostics test it is quite easy...
on the side of the ecu there is a pot resistor with a sticker over it. u need to twist the switch all the way clockwise. then turn it back after 4 seconds. it will now go into diagnostic mode.. the led will flash a sequence corresponding to ur problem..if it flashes 5 times fast then 5 times slow then that means all fine. all the rest of the codes u can find on the nissan silvia website.. just go into the technical forums and do a search....
