if this tacho is original from datsun them is more or like this:
you have 5 wires .pay atention to the 2 blake or blake\white wires.this 2 wires are conect on serial whit the igntion coil.one take the 12v power from the ignition key ,takes this 12v to the inside the tacho and sends out by the outher blake wire to the resistor and to the igniton coil.the outher wires on the tacho are power and light and ground the taco works.
if who have a electrical diagram is more easy to undersant this.this original tacho are not conect like the outhers on the market

I have a factory 1200 tach i'm installing in my coupe.I have it mounted in the cluster, but how do i wire it up?it has 3 wires that seem top plug into the back of the speedo.red wires for the bulbs to a spade,a black wire slides on to a little t connector, and a yellow wire to a bullet connector.is this correct?i also have a black wire with a white stripe just looped through a holder.its not hooked up to anything its just there.can someone please tell where this wire goes.and do i have to run a wire out to the coil or is it already there? thanks.
