I can attest to the ca18det_man crossmember too...fit nice, had some difficulties with the rest of my CA project for now, so the xmember sits on my shelf until after the A15 has a run in the hole.

I dunno why everyone wants to get ripped off by buying a maddat xmember?? Ca18det_man's Xmembers are almost half the price and from what I seen and heard of maddats kits is alot of problems with fitting the engine.
Andrews have no worries with fitting, as I bought an Xmember off andrew a few years ago and it's been going strong :) Cheers Damo

Mate you didnt' have any trouble with the Maddat kit because you modified your tunnel before you even tried to fit the gearbox in it! The maddat kits definitely need tunnel mods even with the Stumpy gearbox.
Sure they work but it's not as simple as it sounds

Whats wrong with the Xmembers I make??? I have two that where made for 1200.com members sitting in my shed .
ACA18turbo why do you say keep the engine as close to the swaybar as possible?? I find if it sits back around 10-15mm off the firewall (around 30-40mm swaybar clearance is good for front pulley- radiator clearance ect also better weight distrubution. I know kev Rowley quite well I have seen a fair bit of his work he is a autoelectrical guru ![]() I havnt seen a maddat kit so cant coment I would be pretty sure his work would be top notch.
