The T50 the gearbox came on the rwd 4age. They r #### n break very easily... a ford sierra 4/5spd box will take the licks or W50/W58 toyota boxes.

1 2 3 4 5 R
T40 (A3) 3.587 2.022 1.384 1.000 - 3.484

t50 (4age) 3.587 2.022 1.384 1.000 0.861 3.484

w50 (celi) 3.566 2.056 1.384 1.000 0.850 4.091

w58 (supr) 3.285 1.894 1.275 1.000 0.783 3.768

Mine cost around $800 to rebuild the first time
Add another $3000 for the close ratio cluster 1:1 5th gear. Needless to say I didn't get that fitted.

I was going to put a t50 box in my ute but everyone talked me out of it as they are too weak so I adapted a w50 same as the one shown in the pick below as thats what a mate of mine put in his sprinter and never had any drama with boxes after that. But in saying all that I have a t50 box that I want to get rid of That I bought and never used

Despite eveyone saying the split case toyota box is a good one my mechanic disagrees
He was a Toyota mech in the era of the TA Celicas and he says if you put more than 200 flywheel hp thru them they tend to break 3rd gear.
I'm contemplating going to another box (maybe even a cast case 5 speed as shown) for the supercharged engine for piece if mind.
I've already had to rebuild this T50 twice since I got it (about 100 trackkm or less)

So might have a rebuilt one with bellhousing, clutch, flywheel etc for sale in about 6 mths

You can fit that box behind an A series auto bellhousing with very little trouble there are a few people on this site that have done that.
I used a 60 series bellhousing cut with a plate to mount aT50 box which are a split case.GREG

Im looking at purchasing a Celica 5speed from a 1977 ra28 celica with a 18r engine. The question is, is this the gearbox to suit the dellow kit and is it a 2t or 3t.
