I won my class at Sandown a year and a half ago in an R32 Skyline by over 5 seconds! Beating all the other ricer turbos, V8's rotaries....no one cheered for me! The Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club even promoted me to the next class something called "Modern Sports Performance Class", which only inlcuded 2 STi's - so in the end I officially came 3rd. No one cried for me either....a Skyline is just a Datsun with different badges.

Surely we all race for the love, the self improvement and to learn about ourselves and our cars.

Although there are a few guys in I've met who are obsessed with the trophies...I call them trophy hounds.

Next year I'm going to buy a few trophies to give to these guys just to keep em happy. Maybe I'll buy myself a whole collection so I can impress everyone with my collection....

I raced & philip sland in september &" I" raced at sandown in october &" I" raced at calder on cup eve. And no body from the datsun 1200.com came to watch me

Yeh I was wild , so wild that didn't look at the site for a while. Granted my blunt approach is not the most entertaining and more details would have been nice. But facts are it.
PHunk linked back to these responses I hadn't read (turned my back) fair enough I am passionate and blinded but not rallying but by datsunitis. An achievment of 1st in 4 different classes in any! disipline at the 1 event is cause for a round of appluase, bugger all !

Not only that, now that I've gone back and actually read the post in question and I reckon it's brief to say the least. Perhaps a few more details could have helped invite some more constructive replies...

Sunny's right, however - I DON'T realise what it takes to win a class in a rally, becasue I've never participated in one - I don't have any plans to either - but if you think I don't appreciate those drivers that do, think again buddy!

Calm down! You're certainly not getting any support this way...

maybe you should have wrote a more interesting post about it... you didnt tell us much about it, were you in it? what sort of event was it? how many competed? how long was it?, anything to make it exciting enough to read, think about and reply

Another member posted a topic ,what do you think its worth , your response to that was F##K ALL! ....MAYbe because hes not rallying is that what a 1200 worth .defenatly not ,99% of us own datsuns ,this is why we are here, nobody has the best datsun in the world .Our cars are all unique and self in spired from the poorest to the richest.at the end of the day as long as its being done in a datto we will always be interested, and cogratulations to you and those whom have the time and money to keep the datsun up front ,In years to come they could become a household name and keep the datsun flags flying into the future ..........
