Is the speedo broken, or do you just have a broken drive cable?
If you get under the car,[put it on ramps] you should be able to unscrew the collar from the speedo fitting on the gearbox. It should then be an easy job to slide the inner cable all the way out. Just be aware that it is long, slipery & greasy, so don't wear your best clothes. If it has a square end on the speedo end, then you have the whole thing & it isn't broken, but if a twisted ragged end comes out, then you found the problem.

It's a quick & easy diagnosis of a common problem.

hey guys, just putting a 1200 ute on the road in sa, i have a three instrument cluster (1984 dash) in my ute and wondering if any of you guys would know if a 120y speedo may work as mine is stuffed cheers
