Why cany you take the power from the origanal radio. If thats not posible take the power from the ignition supply from the back of the ignition switch. There shouldnt be any probs with doing it that way.
Check your earth you may need to run an earth from the radio to the body.

Hey there,

- Can you use the same power source from your old tape deck?

Mine is hooked up with the power for my fule pump. I have it rigged out so that when i switch on the fulepump it also powers up the Cd player and when i turn the head lights on the Cd player lights also come on.Only problem is i cant listen to the cd player without the smell of gas and buzzing of the pump. Its been set up like this for a while so im NOT 100% sure how the wireing gose. When it stops raining i'll unwrap the tarps and have a look for ya. Your best bet is to hook it to the battery, i dident power it with my battery because its in the trunk. Ps( this might take a while casue its screwed into the glove compartment on a little tray i made that makes it very hard for dirty theifs to unscrew and take out.)

ok guys heres the situation....

recently took the tape player out of the car to put in a cd/mp3 player in my 1000 coupe... i tested it before screwing it in.. and it worked all good. but when i screwed it in it wouldnt earth.. so i took it out again and turned out to be a fuse which i replaced. i had it all working and when i turned on my blinkers the dash lights and the cd player flicker with the blinkers and when i put one side of the blinkers on, they both come on and my horn wasnt working before and now it is

is my best bet to just wire the cd player straight to the battery or something... a friend told me it might be my alternator?? i got an A12 alternator (A12 engine) and he said i might need an A15 alternator??

hmm well any help is welcomed

cheers
shaun
