news just in
the A series head is 15 inches long and the J series is 18 and a total length of about 22 inches. so the head is longer by a bit but i dont have any A series cranks to measure for the overall length ( they are all at work!!) so if u have an A series then measure the overall length as a rough guess and no im not pulling the sump off to count main bearings :)!! ben

I'd like to know if a J15 crank fits into a A14/15 block!

the j 15 is one big hunk of a motor
it has iron head and looks at least twice as heavy as the a series i have one in a fairlady 1500 and it aint inspiring the a series is a far better motor in my opinion as it at least has decent valve stem seals and a head made of a 20th century metal ports on the j series arent too bad but not good enough to justify the weight ben You can view topic.
