N80 there is no "best" engine to put in.

the a12 or a12 gx are good little engines. it all depends on how much u want to spend. giv urself 10grand if u wanna do anything properly.
if u go new skool; a ca18det is another common swap, there are many mounting kits for them.
if u want something old skool however, the a15 is probably ur best bet. with its large (yeh reeeeaaaal large) capacity its got more torque and provides a better foundation to begin from.
its ur choice mate,
if u wanna do something different put a rotar in it! thatll turn heads!
set urself out a budget and wot u want from ur engine and go from there.
if u ask me, a side draft a12 with a lumpy cam and the like would b awsome
