I have done it.
The trick is mounting the blower so that the pulleys line up. You need to have the blower level, parallel to the block. My set up was quite hard work to mount the blower, and fabricate the manifold. A setup more like rouge's would probably be less difficult to build.

Hey, where are you located in adelaide?, i can show you the setup on my car to give you ideas on mounting it but mine is injected not carby...

Thinking about supercharging my stock a15 to get alittle more power! Wanting to use the Toyota superchargers that come of the MR2s (I think).

Has anyone done this before? Just want to know whats involved? I would be wanting to run a carby setup!
