QR25DE engine, fly-by-wire throttle, six-speed tranmission, airbags & anti-lock brakes ... I reckon you could take a model T kit and it wouldn't be too difficult (relatively speaking) to fashion a '37 Datsun body for it. We just need some good photos of the body ...
How much would replica '37 Datsun be worth?

Hmmmmm. maybee it needs a new chassis, with a modern suspension, some mags, an SE20DET & 50mm out of the windscreen along with a bright red paint job and lots of chrome.
Now THATS a Datsun i'd like to see. What could you say about that? Man, Dats Hot

good and valid pionts there. If we wanted to own one of these why not make a 1200 powered replica?

I think it should be sold to a museum...not to any private individual this is more history than car.
Looking at the condition it's in too...like it has been in someones barn for 50 years, I can't quite see how they can justify the price.

This would be cool to have but........this money will buy you a Mopar muscle car that will double in value. Sale seems not right to me...don't know why just a gut feeling

Prince? I too would have though a Prince would be the "most expensive" Nissan vehicle on the used car market. It looks like a the car in the ad is a newer model than the first Datson:
![]() This one apparently takes on the new spelling. The eBay ad is big on "mass production" history of Japan, but gives almost no info about the actual car for sale! Just some very grainy pictures taken at some unspecified time. Prior to the Graham-Paige machinery, state of the art machinery was brought over by Mitsubishi Trading under contract to Nissan. The Graham-Paige deal was for designs and machinery and happened because GP was in financial trouble. The vehicle that resulted was not the car in the auction, but a cabover truck, based on GP designs. However, 1937 is generally considered the year state-of-the-art mass production of cars came to Japan. All because of Nissan. Trivia: In 1937, Ford built 2,800 Nissan trucks, because the assembly lines weren't going quite as well as Nissan had hoped, they had to farm it out. Nissan got big on trucks, because that's where the market was. Cars were a niche market in Japan at that time.
