1200s don't have a frame, so no frame rails. Instead, the rear crossmember (at back of transmission) bolts to two bosses that are inside the transmission tunnel. To fit a 60 series transmission, you can make up a bracket out of a flat piece of metal. See tips on installing a 5-speed. I don't know if the 63a will fit the same, but probably will as it uses the same mount.

I think there is another question you might have to ask.
Is the gearbox crossmember the same for the 4 speed A12 and the A14 5spd box? The answer might be no... This might mean some fabrication, customisation to get the gearbox happily bolted to the chassis.

All you need is a longer line from your clutch master to the slave, I have the same setup in my 72 1200 coupe

Speaking of LHD with a 63a..
I have a LHD 1200 and a 63A 5-spd I'd like to install in it. My current 4-spd is hydraulically operated from the left hand side of the box, and the 63a operates from the right side. Would I grab the hydraulic lines, slave cylinder, etc, etc from a b210 to make this work? Would I be better off to maybe trade the box for a 60a 5-spd? My motor is staying mostly stock, or I might swap the motor for a stock A14.

if it's a 63a box,just get the front yoke from a stanza & put it onto the tailshaft.if you're moving the engine & gearbox back 2 inches,you'll have to shorten the tailshaft by that amount.the answer to hydraulic or cable clutch is with the 56 & 60 gearboxes,if right hand drive it's cable,if left hand drive it's hydraulic.with the 63a's it's all hydraulic.so where the gearbox came from defines how the clutch is operated.

The driveshaft is the same. The A14 & A12 are same length, as is the 4-speed and 5-speeds 56 or 60 series.
If you are getting a 63 series transmission there may be differences, especially with the clutch disk splines.

Have a look at ANY underhood shot of a LHD 1200 & you will see two master cylinders. One is obviuously for the clutch.
The five speed was not available in Australian models, so they are all imported from various countries. If this gearbox has a hydraulic clutch, then it has come from a country where the hydraulic clutch was used. All Australian models had cable clutches. You can view topic.
