Its pretty much the same especially if you use the 1200 box so probably doesnt need its own section.

I will be buying a celica 5speed for it.

Will i find more info on this in the seach bar? I had a quick look but didn't see much.

We should put it in the Tech section along with the a14/a15 1200 conversion.

Cheers
Ryan

There is a little more work to fit the A14/15 in the 1000 than in an early 1200 ute, but as engine swaps go, it's still pretty much straightfoward.

If you use the 1000 gearbox, you will need to shorten the spiggot part of the gearbox input shaft or else it will bottom out in the crankshaft & prevent the gearbox from bolting up to the engine. There are some minor issues with the clutch release bearing too [use a 1200 assembly] but nothing too dramatic.

What about a a14/a15 into a 1000 ute?
Is it harder to do then a 1200 ute and is it the same as putting it in a 1200?

The ease of converting to the larger A14/15 engines will be dependant on when your ute was built. If built up to '73, it will be relatively easy, but if it is from '74 onward, it will be quite easy.
