#2 Re: supercharger burst plates

Mount it closer to the inlet manifold and make it as large as possible (approx 200mm spring loaded disc).

A good design would see it in a curve section of intake same as the Porsche race cars use to mount thier wastegates.

This means the pressure relief valve is directly in the path of any backfire so it reacts very quickly. Check the spring "blow off" pressure setting with compressed air.

just wondering, with a supercharger setup, is it really necessary to incorporate a burst plate for backfires if i am gonna be using silicon hose in parts. i dont really mind if the hose bursts out but if i really have to ill whack a burst plate in.
if all signs point to' yes i have to' where in the scheme of things is best to put it. closer to the engine or supercharger, or does it make no difference.
sorry if these ramblings dont make much sense, im tired.....
thanks all
