The Sunny Van I had was a 11/78 Japanese made, round head light, leaf spring A12 powered version. It had side windows, but smaller than the ones in the photos. I don't know if this was factory or aftermarket, as the previous owner had also removed the welded in shelf to fit a rear seat. The good news is the fellow I gave the shell to is restoring it because it's in better condition than his one. I can also remember selling some rims to a father/sun combo, for the sons Sunny Van, which was white with solid sides. Suggested an A15 to the father (I was selling one at the time) but no sale.

Actually the Australian VB310 Sunny Panel van was leaf spring as elsewhere and solid sides no windows at all and like all Sunny B310 models in Australia full imports, they were all also just a cooking A12.
Mine went through A14 GX then L20B which even in SSS spec went no better than the A14 GX engine both ran the appropriate 5 speed so ratios were similar between the overdrive type 60 and the overdrive type 63 boxes, However man did it stop when I dropped in a spare set of Works Stanza struts works vented disks and four spots strangely enough brake balance with stock rear drums worked out perfectly with that setup. Wish I still had it as they were rare back then let alone now, Six years ago when I was working in Bowral in the Southern Highlands one of my Customers had a Sunny van and his checking found just one other registered in NSW at the time.

yeah July '74, and I took the H145 out and replaced it with a BW68 out of the original Defect which was/is a March '77.. and THAT car was an aussie built one... strangely it had Jap spec struts on it...
wanted to put a H150 centre into the H145 housing but the axles wouldn't come out and the car was bouncing around on the hoist, so I put in the Defect's diff drum to drum with the leaves and everything... and the 200B SX alloys wit R14 185/65 tyres... and for an A12 it's for it wild tyre size, but TD3 does have a 60L 4 speed in it... also didn't have a manual tailshaft for it - car was a 3N71B car... and didn't want to buy a manual tailshaft.... and the BW68's good.. and I did learn one thing... the rear track of a BW68 in a 120Y is wider had Bluebird steelies on my black 120Y and the tyres scrape against the leaf springs, on TD3 those wheels/tyres clear the leaf springs.. edit it has 185/75 R14 90 H tyres on the back of it and 12" rims and tyres on it...

Yes, all Japan-built 1973-1974 B210 were fitted with H145
Is your 120Y a 1974 model? If not then the rear axle assembly was swapped sometime in it's long life. You can view topic.
