i so badly wish someone (who has sponsors because it'd cost a bitch) would get a coupe and make it ( properly ) into a full time drag car with an RB26DETT and a drag space frame chassis etc. I would pay to see that. I mean if a coupe with a sr20det can do 7's on the quarter i wish i could see an rb go down the track.

I remember reading a Japanese performance car magazine a couple of years back, doing the RB26 twin turbo into a 1200 coupe. It was primarily a drag weapon. I think it was Option magazine but I could be wrong...but it has definately been done.

If you were prepared to sit next to the engine cos it'll be so far back behing the front axles then it would handle a little better. Why not stick with a naturally aspirated model to save on space and weight?

that realy doesnt sound like a bad idea actually iv been doin the sums and its goin to cost a #### load to do and realy wouldent handle very well for what i want it for. so relistily im beter off geting a supercharged a15 or something a hole lot lighter than a rb26 but i still would love to do it

dude if you've got 20k to play with and really fancy an rb26 get yourself an r32 (doesn't have to be gt-r) that would be a useful combination, then put whitewalls on your 1200 and keep the stock a12 and cruise the beach with it

i would have thought that someone seriously wanting to put a RB26 in a 1200 would know that with the brakes you'll need the biggest possible, and the suspension will need heaps of work front and back, including heavy springs with matching shocks and swaybars at the front so you can turn coners wtih the weight of the engine, and at the back it would almost be worth getting rid of the leafs all together and getting a 4-link or similar. then again you could just keep it standard and see how long you live?
sorry i don't think that other peoples opinions should matter, anything is possible, it is just if you have the time and/or money to do it. good luck with it if you do choose to go ahead
