This cold air thing works well in high performance applications & at higher engine speeds, but if you are likely to spend much time at slow speeds, in cold areas, particularly if the humidity is high, like in fog & mist, then you will want all the heat that you can get to stop carb icing, & the need for rich mixtures, which in turn tend to wash the oil from the cylinder walls, which then in turn leads to accelerated bore wear.

You get nothing for nothing.

It does work and very well all you have to do is figure out a way of getting cold air from the front of your car into the carby.

You will find all you need at the hardware store, all cars are different so there are plans that suit every car.

You might want to cut out an area behind the grille next to the radiator and set up some funnel style arrangement.

Try and get a good seal around the joints, and just use your imagination to work out how best to do it.

because the a-series has an exhaust heated intake manifold so if you want to benefit from a cold air intake you have to get headers(extractors) and a new intake manifold. then the cold intake air will help a bit, i tried sevral combos of cold air intake on the a14 with the stock carb and with the weber. i couldnt tell. a high flow filter is probly the best youll get

Sorry if this is a dumb question im just curious. I have been told by many people it is possible to put a cold air intake on a carburated engine and still have the same results as on an fi. But no one knows how to do it or knows how to attach it or how it really works or anything so I was just wonderin if any of you guys know.

Thanks
