Just my 2.2 cents:
With a 1200 Ute, there is little weight in the rear end. An open centre can surprise you by going from 1 wheel to 2 wheels. An LSD and Locker remove this "element of surprise" . Once you put some power in these things, even with an open centre it will swap ends on you if you are not careful. The only thing I wouldn't suggest is an open centre.

I am facing the same decision....
Went over it just the other day. Here Ended up deciding on the LSD option in spite of extra cost due to increased driveability & legality.

The locked diff is both illegal & dangerous on the street, while the LSD isn't & isn't.[well less so at least]
Tough choice.

i really need some advice.
