Thanks I just have some more questions though. Would the clutch plate and pressure plate be the same on my a12 and a gearbox of an a15.
And what type of gearbox did the 83-84 nissan vanettes have ?

The altenator, starter & distributor will fit & work on an A14, although the advance curve of the A12 engine is different from the original one in the A14. The inlet manifold will not fit, but the exhaust one will bolt up to the head. Don't bother,... use either the correct A14 manifolds, or tubular extractors.
Also, use the engine mount brackets from your old cylinder block to ensure that the A14 will fit in without any fuss.

Does anyone know if the alternator, starter motor and distributer will work on an a14?

I think you might find your A12 exhaust pipe wont bolt up to the A15 exhaust manifold.
You should be OK for crossmember if it is a later model ute - you can tell if the engine is late model by the position of the distributor. Dizzy in centre is new model, dizzy at the front of the engine is old skool. New Old (see the dizzy hole - no dizzy in it)

At the moment i have a completly stock a12 and i am looking to get a reconditioned a15. I was wondering what parts from the a12 (distributer, alternator, starter motor, exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, transimission, diff etc.) will fit the a15 and what parts i will have to buy.
