if only everyone ran their business like the old guy from american choppers.
if he says something will be done, it gets done. if one of his blokes promises something impossible he gets super pis$ed and it gets done

That sucks when stuff like this happens, whats worse is that everyone always thinks they are in the right.
Goodluck homer and hope everything sorts itself out. I personally shop through datsport also have had a lot of fabrication done through craig at maddat both ive had no problems from, I just bought $300 worth of fender mirrors ex japan through datsport, i always pay cash though.

They gave me a call this afternoon
and pi$$3d me off even more have you got your parts yet NO I HAVNT did you send them regisered post so I can trak them? no is the answer why would you send $250 in parcel post with out insurance after I had requested express post or courier so I could get them faster. the excuse was oh that costs more. " oh well I wouldnt give 2 sh!t$ for an extra $2.50 its not even a drop in the bucket after the $1500 I have given them" venting some steam but they continue to screw me. about the credit card well I think they are evil so I dont have one so I had to arrange to grab my mums card for the initial purchase (of corse I gave her the money back) and they felt it was ok to have another go at it even after I asked for the bank account details to direct debit into their account. Oh and by the way original quote whent from $66 dollars to $250 because they thought I should have every thing refurbished. I could have replaced all the ball joints etc and put some gloss black paint on it my self for less than $100 as I have said I will never deal with these guys again.

Homer, If he has charged your credit card without your authorisation, just contact your Bank and dispute the transaction. The onus is then on Datsport to prove you had authorised this transaction on your Credit Card and if they can't do this you will recieve the money back and he will not only lose the money, but also cop a chargeback fee of around $30. You can bet if this happens he'll be sorting things out in a hurry to get his money back. Trust me I've worked in the Banking industry for 20 odd years and it's a fairly easy thing for you to do. Just depends if you want to take it that far....good luck

the only rain i can say we have had lately would have been on saturday 2nd of september @night. nothing during the day that should affect a business really. however datsport do have alot of great things for datsuns and there really is not many places you can find the stuff he makes/sells easy. i guess u have to take risks in life to get the things you want. but yeah hearing about your issue will allways be in the back of my head and make me think twice @ datsport.

mate,as a mechanic i have to agree with dattodude.things rarely bolt on,especially when back yarders like you try to do it yourself.i dont know who this baz dickhead is but there are lots of dodgy sales guys in the aftermarket game.the easiest solution is to train for 4 years as an apprentice, gain experience as a qualified mechanic, build everything yourself and dont trust anything anybody says!

I understand that baz has a wealth of knowlage and that is why I was happy to go to him an trust in his knowlage however as other people have said he is un orthodox in his business dealings.
In regards to adding up 3 of my neighbours cars expences ppphhhh I dont think so I have spent over 15 grand on the datto in the last year and another 5 or so on my HSV all in all i feel that people should be told when they have been screwed over so they dont go thru the same things OR baz starts thinking about his customer relation skills.

The way I see it, If there is a legitimate reason for something not fitting or an extra wait on parts etc, etc. Dont lie about it, Honisty is the best policy. Sure the customer may be a bit upset by this but It would prevent threads such as this in ANY forum being distributed around the galaxy and not to mention bad reputations for people aswell. Cheers. Adam.

mate, i have had a similar experience with datsport. I have come to realise that all the stuff that all these datto do-up places (maddat, nissco 1600 workshop, datsport etc) are really just overpriced versions of us, the datto moddifiers! baz has a wealth of datsun knowledge, but mightn't be the best business operator in the world. i think its a valid expression of your anger to write up a thread like this. unfortunately thats the way it goes - people with knowledge (on how to do things) have the power to sell overpriced items to people who have no choice but to buy them as there is no alternative. that doesn't excuse poor business practice though. i might start making R31 bolt in front brakes... hmmm
