yeah that's what i was thinking. a friend emailed me a pic of his, and there is no ground at all. i guess they figured it would ground on the engine bracket.

if its a ground could you not just ground it to the engine block or to the chasis? Sure its not marked as "A" on the alternator (not at home so cant have a look at my old ones)

ok, i'm replacing an old lucas alternator which looks to be an internal regulator (on a car that's supposed to have an external regulator)
anyway, the new alternator is an external regulator, and that shouldn't be a problem except for the fact that there's NO "E" (earth) wire coming out of the alternator subharness so, does that mean the internal regulator alternator didn't need an "E" connection or ??? most important, assuming i must wire my own "E" connection, where should it be grounded to?
