I say it's an easy 5000 or 6000 for it. It looks staright and the rust isn't that important because its on the lower parts of the fender.

I think it would be under a grand. you can buy after market 1/4 panel for the utes from most parts places.

Well thats what I would have thought too.... if you or I were to do the repair.
BUT for a "pannel shop" to do the repair try inexcess of 2 grand!

But thats not the onl porblem. Turns out that due to the nature of the impact ( 90 degrees to the rear wheel) the whole rear axle is rooted. I suspect the axle is bent and a shockload has been sent through the diff centre ( its bloody noisy!)
Again for a "pannel shop" to do the repair on the whole rear axle assembly try another 1500 big ones.
this brings a total repair cost to $3500 ....remember you or I could do this for probably $5-600 but thats not how an insurance company looks at things.

An ASS-essor is suppose to be coming out early next week to make a final desision on the poor little thing but the repair costs are now out weighing the insured value.
Heres a couple of pics..

Thanks guys,
The problem is that the cost of parts here in Perth are going to be high for a pannel beater to do the job properly. I'm yet to hear exactly what the outcome will be but thats all up to the other parties insurance company.
My bro' inlaw is an assessor and he seems to think they'll write it off no doubt BUT what they offer will only be roughly market value unless I can come up with some hard evidence that its worth more.
I allways have first option to buy it back if its written off. Apparently written off vechicles are sold at +/- salvage value .
As mentioned before , the damage isn't that bad but you have to think of what a pannel beaters charges would be if they were to bring it back to the condition it was in previously.
Jason.

If you do get a payout for it, find it and buy it back at auction for parts for your next one.
