Does it come with the loom and ECU?

Also does it come with a flywheel and clutch?

Why would you ultrasonic test the block/crank/rods. ultrasonic is for subsurface defects ie manufacturing problems/inclusions or for problems on the far surface (not for near surface or on surface defects - ultrasonic wave is still forming in the near zone). My recommendation would be for Liquid penetrant testing (LPT), LPT should detect defects open to the surface (ie cracks), the orientation of the defect is irrelevant. However, if you know the orientation of the defect and the material is a ferromagnetic (which the block, rods and crank are) you could also use Magnetic particle (detect smaller defects). I would stay away from Radiographic testing though, as this requires a density change in the material and is less sensitive then the other methods for the type of defects you would be looking for.

Anyway I digress sorry to hijack the post.

I'm thinking a broken engine is worth only the price of the accessories.

If a piston is cracked or ring lands broken, from obvious high boost or lean out, you don't know what damage it done to the bores, valves or valve seats, or the already fragile CA crank or rods.Without ultrasonic testing, you surely can't guarantee it.

As a whole, you are selling a parts engine. Just like a parts car who's floors have rusted out.

At $400 ex-turbo, that's getting closer to the mark. People are silly to use a second hand 'unknown' turbo on any big rebuild, with new turbo prices being what they are now.

so what did you do to it to crack the piston is my worry and is it standard or have you done anything to it

A set of pistons and a bottom end rebuild.....sounds expensive - but I've never had it quoted. $600?
