I just use a couple sliding bolts on the inside of the tailgate. Works fine, plus i have a torneu to hold it up most of the time if they fail

many ppl have done it, i heard something about using the mechanism out of a hilux and making it fit the 1200 tailgate

Has anyone shaved their tailgate handles but have another way of opening it from inside tray perhaps, i still want use of the tray but hate those handles
