mine went up for sale today, probably a bit more than what you want to spend though by the sounds of things.

I can see your point but I would prefer to spend the money on the car after buying it that way I know exactly what, why and how things are done in regards to body work and so on. Rust repair , body work , mechanicals are the easy part . I'm a Shipright & Boilermaker/coded welder by trade/s with plenty of mechanical engineering experiance and my brother inlaw's a pannelbeater by trade .
Plus I still have my ute for spares like a bomed A14, wheels, 5speed and so on......but thanks for the offer

The more you spend the more someone else has already spent on it. Between me and the bloke I bough my ute off it owes at least $13k- you can have it for $8k if you like
Buy a ute for $2k and you will spend $5-7k getting rust cut out & respray before you know what's going on.... +wheels, + an A14 so that it can keep up with traffic..... and all of a sudden it has cost you $10k+ and is worth $6-7k (unless you have the skills or the mates to do the body work & mechanical work on the cheap)

Put it this way, the less I spend , the more I can spend on it....
Noticed a few in perth for $ 6-7K which I couldn't afford, missed one a couple of weeks ago due to waiting for the insurance company to make up their minds- 1980 1200 with rust in sills, A14 and rego till December went for $900 -BUGGER IT!!
