N10 was called Cherry in Europe. Actually it was the first model known as Cherry here. I think N12 was the last model badged as Cherry. N13 was confusingly named as Sunny.
N10 model names were Cherry 120A (A12 engine), Cherry 140A (A14) and later for 1982 models also Cherry 130A (E13) and Cherry 150A (E15).

E10 was called Datsun 100A (with A10 engine) or Datsun 120A (A12, but this engine was only available in Coupe). Some very first E10 back 1971 was called Datsun 1000 because it kind of replaced B10. And I think a very short time Cherry name was used.

F10 was known as Datsun 100A F-II or 120A F-II. Again, 100A for A10 and 120A for A12. A12 powered 120A F-II was the most common model.

mikko, was the N10 ever called a "Cherry"? It was not called that in Japan or USA.

In Japan, the Cherry name was discontinued after the F10.

I have an a14 out of a N10 Pulsar sitting on its cross member/cradle out in the shed. I also have the A10 engine & gearbox out of the my E10 sitting on the floor. Tell me what photos you want and I will take some for you.

Matbighat where do you find all these datsun photo's. I might have to get you to burn a disc with all your cherry (E10) stuff on it.

E10 and F10 have similar engine mounting method. N10 is a bit different.
The gearbox is under the engine. Fron engine mounting poinsts are:
1. on the side of oil sump. Oil sump is made of aluminium alloy.
2. on the side of the clutch housing

Rear mounting point is located near the final gear.

Next weekend if I have time, I'll take the engine+gearbox out of my E10. I'll take some photos and post them here if anybody's interested.
