D: Why are those cheap-looking rubber ended bumpers put on the more expensive GL and GX B310s?

Datsun in 1980: Good point. Instead of using the all-metal bumper and slapping rubber on it, let's change to a cheaper cut-down bumper bar and slap rubber on that

aint it the truth -- in USA high fuel economy isn't worth much

41 mpg and about the lowest price car. 41 mpg and that's without overdrive (which was only available at extra cost)

I suspect the B110 is more respected/legendary, while the B310 is more currently available thus currently more popular ...

it being the favorite A gata Dattosan in Japan vs earlier 1200
Did the 310 really have more racing success than the 1200 in japan?
Thats the only I could muster why it could be so popular....
