Thanks HOMER, That was a great list of things you have done. Pretty similar to the list I have drawn up to put in the CA. Not a great deal of change though except for the tunnel. I am guessing the SR20 has a larger gear box to the CA18. If you have any pics of the build or any more handy hints let me know please. I can pm you my email if thats easier.

It was a lot of work and if I thought about it more I would have had jigs made up for all the neccesary mods so that others would not have to fork out for so much custom work.
If you have a decent work shop around that can do the work from start to finish that would be a big help. all the custom stuff i had done (that I can remeber is) custom cross member custom mounts custom tail shaft race style trans tunnel (I could probably fit a turbo 400 behind the engine) seat mounts radiator custom KMAC sway bar had the water outlet cut and re welded at a diffrent angle list goes on all I can say is it wasnt cheap hasnt been fast but as much as i can tell it will be worth it. I think its the most sensible option it has decent power (variable valve timing) is rated at about 125 kw at the fly wheel so that combined with the weight of the car and the torque of the NA 2 ltr makes for a punchy fast exillerating drive. if i was thinking of a 1/4 mile machine then it would be turboed but my plan is this is a daily driver (280klm round commute to work and back) so It has to be reliable. the engine is un cracked with the only real mods being air intake and exhaust backed up by a stumpy box and h165 (hope it will hold up) I say do it I still have a full head of hair and it isnt grey either so it mustnt be that bad.

Yep I know, but you can get off the shelf bars for sr into 1600.
Diff = r180 or r200 plus the bonus of a longer engine bay for the cooler. Bigger tunnel for the s13 box.... Plus my 1600 has had more suspension/brakes upgrades... which was another scary thing in the 1200 :|

Thats it...
Cheap Reliable and fast... I picked cheap and fast :P No surge tank was a dumb idea... also BW68's and H145's dont like the abuse :P but yer it was a smooth car, almost like an auto, any gear it picked up from low revs good news is I now have a unbrakable diff behind my a series :) and the sr is waiting to go in my 1600...

man... what reliability issues can you get from a stock SR that would make u go to all the effort of changing back to a sereis? I had 2 diffs go in 1 week. then a fuel pump and what i thaught was a gearbox.... :( Plus the swaybar issues. I imagine you would struggle to fit everything in if you went turbo and wanted a front mount. You would need to make sure you mounted it really far back. Mine had JUST enough room for the radiator and the thermo mounted frontside of the grille!

There's two here with SR20DETs? I imagine fitting the non-turbo would be a bit easier?
