Yes the reasoning is they are the same block but the qr has longer rods
and shorter stroke with the same bore. However using the SR20de crank
gives the extra insurance for extra high horsepower and rpm.
Combine the 2 and you have the best nissan head and bottom end.
Hence this guy calls it the SQR20DET :)

A de-stroked QR25DE? There is a factory QR20DE in Japan.
Lighter than SR20DE -- and more HP!

The QR20DD produces 150 hp (110 kW) with NEO direct injection
* 2000-2004 Nissan Bluebird Sylphy

Most QR20DE are 147HP
2001-2007 Nissan X-Trail T30 (140 hp)
2001-2007 Nissan Primera P12
2002-present Nissan Serena C24, 145 hp (108 kW)
2003-2008 Nissan Teana J31, 145 hp (108 kW)
2001-2005 Nissan Wingroad Y11
2002-2005 Nissan Avenir W11
2001-2004 Nissan Prairie M12

SR20DE is 140 HP.

RWD transmissions are plentiful here in USA, but expensive since they started in 2005.

Yeah the heavier boxes from nissan will fit but I would prefer a w57 toyota box at 35kg.

Flab or Weight is the enemy!

I looked into the QR25 engine for my 510 racecar.

The QR25 is used in the Nissan Frontier Pick-up here in the States. The engine blocks are the same FWD or RWD, so the Frontier RWD transmission will fit any QR25 engine. I would immaging the QR20 is the same block as the QR25, so a US market 5 speed "bellhousing" gearbox case should fit any S15 or other nissan RWD gearbox.

I really like the thought of this engine being 80kg

Is there a way to find out? It would make an excellent replacement for the A series.

If it is around 80kgs it can drop further with alloy crank pulley and knife edged crank.

Any luck with the rwd gearbox matchup?

regards, d.

Hey DD.

Problem lays with the anti-sway bar. Steering looks promising too clear.

I'm not happy with the engine for the 180B, the engine looks far to small in the engine bay. The QR may find it's way into a KB210 if I don't see it though in the B.

Sorry about the poor picture quality. I was caput after lifting the engine in there. FYI. Bare engine weights in at about 80kg.

Looks like there is plenty of room in the B210 for this QR engine. But if I understand that picture, you need to drop the steering linkage down (re-weld as u-shape?) or fit [Rack and Pinion steering gearbox.

The engine has been test fitted to the 180B. It looks like quite a large chunk of work to say the least. While I was at it I also decided just to see how it would go into the 120Y.

Would of sat in the 120Y engine bay snuggly if not for the sway bar.
