Demisting of windscreen

ADR15
The function of this Australian Design Rule is to specify requirements for standards for equipment to maintain the Windscreen clear of 'Mist' so that driver's 'forward' vision is not obscured

you are required to have a front demister
and for this you need heat.. not just air

well according to the rules anyway

but as stated u can get electric heaters/fans for this purpose

As far as I know it is a requirement for it to be fitted. If a car has one in its original state it must have one when modified. It doesn't need to be the same one though.

Go to the wreckers and search through some poxy little hatchbacks to find a suitable under dash unit. I've known many people who have had cars defected for not having an operational heater/demister, let alone not having one at all.

Im not going to have one in my ute.

Some people use 12V hair dryers to blow some hot air on the windscreen. Regency will be happy with that as well, and for $25 is a good investment.

you need to have a fan to blow air on the screen i think, but that could just be for motorsport

take it out, put a subby there instead

i know you can look up the rules in vic and nsw, maybe you can for south australia too on the road authorities website, if not looking at nsw and vic would give you a fair idea, something like that i imagine would have a pretty standard ruling
