Thanks for the help. I think I'll go 550x180x65 as I will be running stock with only slight modding down the track.

the bar and plate one with 2inch pipes is fine for a stockish motor, also witht the 2 inch piping, wont need to chop as much to route the piping too.
With inlet/outlet piping, you have to work out if it will restict the ammount of air traveling through, too small too restirctive, too big and not enough boost = lag....

How bout a Just Jap Cooling Pro Bar and Plate 550x180x65 with 2 inch outlets for $149 as it fits behind the grill which is 200. Or should I just go 600/450x300x76 with 2.5/3 inch outlets for $20ish more?

anything bigger than a stock ca18 tissuebox intercooler will be better. vr4 have a nice size and flowing core, so do gtir pulsars, toyota supras etc.
Just jap $100 ones are better than a stock ca18 cooler...... full stop

Thanks Everyone
Yeah I'm after good value for my money. I was thinking the ones from justjap on ebay would bee good enough. Is the size I listed a good size as I'm unsure at how big is too big and how small is too small.

Mate, just about any size will fit behind a 1200 grille. If you're main aim is good value for your dollar (which i assume it is seeing as though you're wanting FREE advice haha) I had a cooler that was a little over one meter in total length including end tanks and it was all behind the grille. That was with a CA18det.
unless you are planning on conquering the world and need every last advantage of a 'custom' cooler i'd jump on ebay or look up just jap. They are cheap coz they are mass produced using chinese labour. they also weigh a little more but are still great coolers and can be had for as little as $100! bar and plate, tube and fin... they are just different designs. its the restriction inside the core that is more important. good luck!

Yes because the way it is set up you can run shorter end tanks.

They look good, but yeah they are a bit of money, might think about it a bit later. Think I'll keep looking too.

and if the desgin is similar you can mount it so it looks like it intergrates into the stock metal grill.
