I would say raping one is the best bet, not sure whether a new one would even be available. Just make sure your one is the same length as the one you're looking at raping.

Taking the sump off and tapping it out with a hammer is the way to go.
You'll need to take your sway bar off also. Have fun.

Pull it's pants off and tap it from below. Works on so many levels What about using a early block dipstick? they sit flush(or neer enough) to the block

If you dont want to pull its pants off try a itty bitty slide hammer with a itty bitty hook end on it. VERY fiddely work but a bit of perserverance may save you some time in the long run.

Now that is REALLY a bummer!
Usually, those tubes are just pressed in to the block. I hate using Ezy-outs, notorious for snapping off and making the job twice as bad. I don't think an Ezy-out would be able to grip the tube well enough to enable you to extract it. However, you may be lucky I would be tempted to use a drill bit in a tap wrench, you know that device that you would normally put a tap in to cut a thread. Wind it in carefully and use a vacuum cleaner to suck up any swarf as it is generated. [You could fill up the hole with grease first to prevent anything dropping into the sump] Just make sure the drill bit you use is only large enough to remove the dip tube and not cut into the block. Haven't had to do this, ever, but it is where I would start

Pull it's pants off and tap it from below. There is no thread, just an interference fit.

Hey guys, my oil dipstick channel has broken off the block, not sure how but it has broken right where meets the block.
Now these channels are tapped into the block correct? The arent threaded in or anything? Will I need to use a Easy-out to get it out and find a replacement??? What have people done in this sistuation. Cheers You can view topic.
