I ran a couple of country for GTR owners. I have the maps & route directions on file, and can email them if you're interested. just pm me your email addy twincharged. Might at least give you some ideas even if you don't use the whole route - there's some awesome roads in there, particularly out towards Kennilworth from Malaney and the Obi Obi road.

They both started on the northside and one ended up at Wappa Dam on north of Nambour, and the other ended at Jimna, about 40km out of Kilcoy. I think each were only about 140km at most.

They were on winding country roads though, not a drive down the highway to the coast. Some parts of the roads are bumpy, a few cattle grids, and one even had a km or two of smooth dirt. But they were always very popular with the GTR owners. We used to get 30-40 GTRs turn up for these days, which is not too shabby.

I Tried to take them on some roads they otherwise wouldn't even have known existed, and also tried to avoid the usual weekend cop haunts like nebo and glorious. although there are some nice roads out that way too, and Wivenhoe is a good place for lunch. I know alot of the back roads out there as well from the road rallies I've done.

Also went on a very good drive with a few SAU people a month or so ago down the Lion's Road along the border ranges. We started at Beaudesert and finished up at Ipswich. Some awsome roads out there too!

A good local cruise with a meal stop is the Mt. Nebo / Glorious run with a stop at the Mt. Glorious coffee shop & down the other side through split-yard & around the back on Wivenhoe dam.

But, if you're keen on the Goldie thing, I reckon you'd have to include a run either up or down the east side of the springbrook range.... Or maybe Mt. Tamborine.

These were my fave rides when I was on 2 wheels.

Yes good start
The bugs were good to eat. heheh
Around brissy is always good as it in the middle of most places. The hiterland was a good time and going to the gocarts at the end and racing eachother was the best.

May is an option isnt it?? Late may??

Brisse to Gold Coast cruise wouldnt be too bad, a barbie down there somewhere. I guess its a pretty simple cruise, maybe could go further south and make the Goldie and mid point.
