if you only lost an hour it's not bad...
If you only use generic parts it gets easier... what's bolt-on? 280zx strut and brake swap was easier to install than changing spark plug wires on a ford explorer. Computer stuff is where they get ya... Few things are really as easy or functional as advertised... I wish it were as easy as taking the dremel to a badly made corner of a computer system....

My missus blew the motor up in her Hyundai Lantra and I bought one of those imports. Got it sent to me and it had Mitsubishi on the rocker cover. Rang the bloke and he said, "yeah mate its a straight drop in, everythings the same"
Turns out the only thin in common was the block and head, EVERYTHING else was different

Just thought I would start a thread about that flash new "BOLT ON REPLACEMENT" part you just purchassed. Did it really do as the instructions say and just went on or was it a real pain in the BUTT. Here is my little tail
I bought a Autotechnica sports steering wheel to replace the Autotechnica wood grain (really sucks in the heat up here in Townsville) I already have. Asked the sales man, will it directly replace the Autotechnica wheel I already have, YES IT WOULD he replied. Got it home, removed the old wheel, and fitted the new wheel, and yes it fitted, WOO HOO. UNITL I tried the horn - NOTHING. Upon closer inspection it turned out that it was physically impossible for the horn switch to contact the earth, I tried the old switch set up but it didnt fit the new wheel so I had to solder on an extension so the switch could contact the earth. 5 minute job turned into nealy an hour.
