Found a listing for .040 over Japan made A12 pistons & rings. at this site. http://www.classicgarage.com/index.html
I've bought from them in the past they have great prices & great service. Their listings of 1200 parts seems to fluctuate. Last year, I got a complete set of Koni shocks from them for my 1200.
Another site in the US. I just ordered from is
http://www.rockauto.com/ They list quite a few Datsun 1200 parts at great prices.
(e-mails also sent to sundat1200).

The A14 pistons have the same basic appearance & deck height, but are 3mm larger in diameter, size for size, & use a larger wrist pin [19mm against the 1200's 17.5mm].

With A12A rods, or bored out original rods, these could be used in a 1200 block, but a 4mm overbore to 77mm, in the 1200 block, would probably be the absolute practical limit. I ran a 76.5mm bore for many years in mine without trouble

A14 Pistons 1mm over

...but that may not help much (too lazy to see if they are different to A12 - sorry! )

I might be willing to pay shipping from Australia if the price is right. Email dcdebolt@hotmail.com. Pistons must be standard shape, but .040 oversize.
Thanks.
