i think it was xf, something early like that

but the diff guy pretty much said any 28 spline BW78 LSD from a car with gears over 3.08 would fit in with up to 4.1 gears

which makes sence as 2 of my mates have put 4.1 gears in there falcons and commodores with stock LSDs

Thanks, I learned that the hard way. Not all, if any, XF centers are 28 spline either as I could not fit my 28 spline axles in one.

some EAs and some EBs are 28 spline, but yes EB 2 onwards are all 28 spline and will work
same thing with commodores too, as long as its 28 spline and 3 something gearing it will work

only way to stuff up a LSD into 28 spline BW is to get i think it was a 28 spline xf LSD as they had 2.7 gears...so the offset was different

well atleast thats the only way my diff guy could see it not working

Yeah they are clutch type centers. I went and grabbed one out of an XF falcon and the wreckers and they are a 25 spline. How sure are you guys that the EA version would fit my 28 spline R31 diff?

yeah i was talking ea ones...doubt that r31 are viscous, being the same diff as falcon and commodore and they are both clutch pack

arent r31 viscous? how do you shim a viscous diff?

I've heard that the EA falcon centers are the way to go as they have usually had an easier life

shims first...... if your going to reco it might as well kill the thing first

and how bad could it really slip with the light weight of a datto any way

or for an extra $60 you could have a tired LSD from the wreckers

and then spend $400 to get it recoed
