Yeah I heard the Triton advert, went hysterical when I heard it. Threw a shoe at the T.V and it fell backward into the wall. Ooops, hole in the wall.

Shame to see the Triton loose it's original design so much too, looks like a rhino beetle now.

I don't mind the Byrds, keep in mind both The Byrds and Hendrix had great respect for Dylan, 'stole' maybe too stronger word...... I know what you mean though.

i like bob not so much for all his hit songs, but the songs that come on the Bside of his records. the songs that said stuff!!!

He also wrote all along the watchtower (hendrix stole it) and mr tambourine man (the byrds stole it)

and now i watch mitsubishi triton ads and some1 has done a cover of "hard rains" and on the radio i sometimes hear a cover of "baby blue"

dylan is the greatest in my eyes.

Well guys,

I could start about my opinions on modern music vs older music but i would end up just writing pages and pages. Just came on to say all music is great, but it's just like anything, it's only the amount of people who can appreciate that specific style of music or song which makes it popular. So inherintly no music is 'better' or 'worse' than any other.

So when you say you prefer bob dylan's older stuff to his newer stuff, i'm the same, but i still appreciate his newer stuff aswell.

Also all music comes from somewhere. Every group has it's influences. Thats why completely original music is very hard to come by, especially now with the whole commercialisation of 'popular' music.

Anyways i'm getting started and if i say much more i won't be able to stop! As clyons8 said, enough of talking about it and back to making it.

Oh by the way clyons8, bob dylan didn't write house of the rising sun, no one really knows where it came from. He just recorded it on his first album. I think it was written back in the 1940's or something. Go here To find out more.

What people don't realise is that the so called 'Country Music' sound is what rock 'n 'roll began from. Look at the classics- The Flying Burrito Brothers i.e Gram Parsons- later to join The Band, Arthur Lee and the band LOVE, goin way back NEW RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE etc etc.
This so called 'Country Sound' is what should be called folk-music. Music for the people. I don't know about Lee Kernagan or whatever he calls himself but the original folk music sound was about voice and words. Put it this way daveman, you know the classic song by Jefferson Airplane- Somebody to Love- this was remixed and became a hit for about a week. I'm worried...... I dread that when I'm forty there will be a remixed version of Britney's Oops I Did It Again.
If they're remixing music of the past to become a hit today doesn't this say something about the contemporary music industry?
Then again many modern bands hold past legends close-by. Wolfmother? a good blend, remaking Zeppelin and all the other old school valuables.

I'm rambling now, back to the guitar.

Yeah Modern Times is okay but I think it ages with his original fans. I like it but not as much. Just heard Knockin' On Heavens Door what a tune. He wrote The House Of The Rising Sun (later to be sung by The Animals who made it popular) during his early 20's, unbelievable songwriter.

I got pre-show dinner tickets and'VIP' access to a bar during the break for the missus on mothers day ($190 each). I don't know whether she was excited for the fact that I'm taking her out to a flash meal or whether she was devastated (she doesn't really appreciate Bob Dylan).

I very nearly bought a ticket but figured the same thing. I probably wouldn't recognise a fair chunk of what he would play. My favorite's Like a rolling stone but then he's written so many good songs it would take too long to list them all.

I am worried he will play more of his latest tunes. My old man went to his concert 30yrs ago, he was a little dissapointed because he didn't play much of his older stuff.
Lay Lady Lay would be make my night I reckon or Don't Think Twice It's Alright.....listening to it now classic tune guys.
