That really doesn't make too much sense. What exactly are you after, I might be able to help with some info regarding the egine, I stripped and rebuilt my old SR20, 5 or 6 times. As for a conversion into a datsun, someone else would have to help, All i know is read up there is alot of info on this site that is really helpful, alot of the general topics have been covered several times.

Anything bigger requires non-standard engineering. In United States, SR20DET is better because it has more "cubic inches". And is easier to find. The RB20DET is heavier and bigger and in practice doesn't produce more HP than the other two. It won't fit into a 1200 without cutting the body. Did you see wiki - Engine Swaps?

Define "better". Better than what, & for what application? Do you have a clear idea of just what 'better' really is for your particular application. 'Better' is one of those relative terms that has different meanings for different people at different times & under different circumstances. I ask because, for many people, an A15 will provide for all their needs at a very affordable price, without excessive work & with minimal hassles when it comes to the Rego Nazi's, so for these people at least, the ever popular A series is the 'better' choice.

Daveman has given you the obvious difference.
The RB20 is a favoured engine amongst the drifters as it is very suited to high revs for long periods. The SR20 is basically one of the strongest well built 4 cyl ever made (my opinion) The CA18 is another good engine that nissan has produced, favoured in transpants because of it smaller size and easier to certify (engineer) in most states. The CA18 is a more than cabable engine i am doing this conversion in my ute. Engineering was the decider for me but looking at the big picture you don't need alot of power to push sch light cars down the road. Power to weight is what most people look at, but really I believe it should be USEABLE power to weight. no point having heaps of power if you cannot put it down to the ground. I wouldn't be detered from a CA18 because its a 1.8lt not a 2lt. drop in some 40thou piston and increase the capacity to close to a 2lt anyway

RB20 = 6cylinder
SR20 = 4cylinder CA18 = 2/3*RB20
