i was meaning utes....well i think mine is an early one
but its hard to tell when its had a sedan front cut put on it and i retract my statement of getting a ute round gauge face, you need the whole speedo as the odometer is in a different place on the mph speedo and they dont have a stopper like the utes just go find a ute dash and steal its speedo

and sometimes the speedo needles get stuck when going pver 90km/h if the sticker bubbles from age and heat

The speedo in my coupe (round one) has a sticker fitted to it which reads both km and miles. The trip reading is however still in miles. these were available back in the 70's but sure u could make something up.
I removed this speedo in preferance for a electronic vdo unit for the ca conversion. I dont want to part with it though, but would be happy to email you a pix of the face. As I retro fitted the vdo gauge into the old gauge cluster. I have the face packed up in the drawer. Email if you want a pix

73 models do have kph, but they are square/rectangle dash
dont know why they would have gone back to mph for the round ones if they did stickers will always look tacky

You don't need to go to a '76 or newer do you? I thought 1973 aussie models had kph.
Anyways there are two different decals here: wiki - Speedometer. You can print them out on photo paper and attach to your speedometer, it can look very good if you are careful and get them printed the correct size.

I know that's an option, I was asking if there was any alternatives - like if someone on here has made up some decals or if a retailer sells them

just get the kph ute speedo face and put it on your speedo
only thing is that your odometer will still be in miles.....but doe that really matter

Hey guys,
as part of my 1/2 arsed resto on my 1200 sedan, I'm fitting a coupe factory tacho instrument cluster - but being in Australia I'd prefer a KM/H speedo. Short of doing a 1/2 arsed job of it myself, or buying a 76-85 ute cluster & mixing/matching them together - do I have any options other than learning the MPH equivalents? Yes I know I can put a sticker somewhere with the conversions, but that would kinda ruin the look of a rebuilt clean car Cheers Ash You can view topic.
