By the way ddave - I was at EFI Hardware the other day and recognised the car in your avatar as Steve's old car.....wouldn't mind taking a look at it one day - looking for some inspiration.

WRXSUX, is talking about the diff in a datsun 1000 coupe under 2 litre sports sedan that has a wider track diff in it.

1000 diffs are H145, like pigdog said the ute diff keeps the same track. KE55 Corolla bw diffs widen the track by about 2inches overall.

Looks like thr diff in the 1000 is a H165 mate...

coupes have h145's. it wouldnt be to hard to change the rear end though i cant imagine. it will be stronger and widen the track with the h165

my understanding is that all utes have h165 but what do coupes have h145 or h165 ?

I may be wrong, someone correct me if i am,but i am yet to see an Australian delivered 1200 ute with anything but an H165 installed in the back, and no they won't interchange bits with the sedan or coupe or wagon.
